Until that moment, Luce had thought she had a chance at standing up and just shaking off the incident- literally. But seeing Daniel’s reaction- well, it finally made her crack.

I haven’t gotten to this part yet. It seems just by this paragraph that we are in for one very lovely scene. I use lovely very loosely. I don’t want anybody to think that my weird sense of humor has turned me too dark.

“All right then,” I said finally. “We’ll see how this goes. If anything goes wrong- anything at all- we leave. No arguments.”

Rose was very unsure about them returning to the Vampire Academy. She was sure that it would be putting Lissa in the danger that she was trying to get her away from two years ago. She was logical though. She realized she needed more training.

That was the first time Michael called him ‘George’. My father never let him sell anything again.

I feel this says more about Michael’s character than Richard ever realized. He was just too blinded with love for his brother to have caught it at first.

“I thought since it was rainy today we could have a girl’s day. William is working all day, and I need a break from wedding plans.”
“What did you have in mind?”
“A movie, lunch, and a little shopping if you’re up to it. I didn’t have any definite plans, just wanted to hang out.”

The dynamic between these two best friends is so adorable. I’d love to have a best friend so I can have moments like they have!

Alice was always the clever one,” Hannah goes on. “I used to be the wild one, if you can believe it. We both went to this crummy school but Alice came out of there with amazing grades. She taps ash from her cigarette. “Sorry, I know I’m banging on. She’s on my mind a lot at the moment.”

It’s obvious that Hannah has some very deep wounds. It’s a decent paragraph.

His trap failed, his evidence destroyed, Roberts returned to London. But if he was downhearted, his superiors weren’t. He had established that Windsor’s group were determined, even if they lacked competence. That determination was enough to make them dangerous. It was surely only a matter of time before they managed to set fire to something, and Leeds was home to many of Britain’s most important factories. The risk of leaving them at large was too great.

I haven’t started this book yet. Officially. However, I can already tell that Roberts is a perfectionist who doesn’t like to fail. I’m intrigued by this book.

“Only because you have no sense of fun!” Jess hesitated, then said, “Kestrel, could you try to be more… normal at the party?”

Kestrel is what society would call not normal. They look down on her passions and her choices in life. I can relate to that in so many ways.
