1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I’m from Georgia (United States) 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
This is a hard choice for me. I’m torn between saying I’m looking most to making a dent in Big Little Lies Liane Moriarty 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I never really plan snacks, but I have this delicious bag of peanut brittle I love to randomly munch on. So maybe that! 4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
My name is Nicole (Willow Star Serenity). I am 33 years old. I was born and raised in Georgia. I love reading and writing. I’ve recently found that I love drawing as well. I run two blogs. Willow Writes And Reads and Willow Writes And Reads Promotions. I love them both! 5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I’ll be better with time management this time around. I kind of piddled around the last time around.
I made some minor adjustments to my blog schedule. Mostly it is just wording, but there are some things that I moved around a bit. I removed Willow’s Book Chat for now. I didn’t want to leave anybody hanging for weeks that I blanked out a topic to talk about. I replaced it with a “Free Day” blog to talk about anything and everything I’m interested in. Here’s the link to check out the new blog schedule:
I also won’t be posting anything for the rest of the week with the exception of book reviews and book tags. If I’m tagged in anything. I just got a new job and I have some things I need to get in preparation. I have a lot of paperwork and a drug test. It’ll be fun. I’m excited. I’ll resume blogs on Monday. I may do a Reading Wrap-Up on Sunday. I haven’t decided yet. If that’s something you want to see, let me know!
I’ll also be participating in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon this Saturday! Anybody else do readathons? Let me know if you’re joining so I can follow your progress! I applied to be a moderator of the event for an hour. I haven’t heard anything back, so we’ll see.
All week long I’ve been racking my brain to figure out the best kind of post to honor Audiobook Obsession for their first birthday! I mean these ladies put in a lot of work to make these tours and reviews possible. They are amazing, intelligent, and highly organized. So they deserve a high praise anyways. Especially on special days!
Then it hit me. The best way to honor their birthday is to share my own personal story. I can’t tell you how long I’ve worked with AO. I can’t even tell you how I came to join it. What I can tell you is that it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Through AO, I discovered one of my favorite narrators of all time. Her name is Sarah Puckett. She’s incredibly talented and incredibly humble about it. I’ve also branched out and listened to books I’d of never listened to before. And that’s not evening mentioning that I got to meet two of the sweetest ladies of all times! They are amazing and I will happily work with them as long as they will let me.
If you love listening to audiobooks as much as I do, I would seriously consider giving them a chance. You’ll discover new authors and narrators. You’ll discover a great community that treats you like family. They have a review group and a tour group! I’m happily an active member of both.
Happy birthday Audiobook Obsession! I’m proud to be a part of your beautiful community. Krystyn and Brandie are some of the hardest workers I know and I will always happily consider myself a part of their team and community!
I know there are many people who probably read multiple books. I may not have finished a book, but I made great progress! I’m very proud of my progress. Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it?
I didn’t really have a strategy. I did have a schedule. However, I fell asleep during audiobook hours. I wound up making it work though! 🙂 What was your favorite snack?
Goldfish!!!!! Love them! Wanna volunteer for our next event?
I would. I’d volunteer for all future events if I’m wanted!!!
How I did:
*Takedown Twenty: 69 Pages
*One Plus One: 79 Pages
*The Book Thief: 161 Pages
*Dear Maude (Audiobook): 293 Pages (So far. Listening to this until the VERY LAST MINUTE)
1)What fine part of the world are you reading from today? And what time is it where you are?
I am reading from Georgia!!!! I’m a Southern Peach! I live on EST time. It’s currently 20:20.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’m actually winging it this readathon. I’m still suffering from post book convention funk. I am starting The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I also plan to read a little bit of Taketown Twenty by Janet Evanovich and One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. My audiobook to start with is Dear Maude by Denise Liebig
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Oreos and Milk
4) Do you have a #reversereadathon plan of attack?
Taking advantage of the overnight hours to read read read!!!! (Oh wait I do that anyways)
5) Are you doing the readathon solo or with others?
Sadly, I’m doing it solo. I’d love to have people near me who I can read with. Besides my mom. I love her dearly but readathons are over her head a bit.
So, I’m not sure how many of you participate in readathons. I do. I absolutely love them. It’s how I get my rush. Well those and reading sprints. But I’m getting off topic! There’s a fabulous readathon sponsored by Dewey’s . Instead of being held from 8 AM to 8 AM like it normally is, they are doing it from 8 PM to 8 PM. I’m excited for this, but I’m so nervous too. I haven’t even gotten a reading list together! Anybody else participating? If so, please let me know! Tell me what your TBR pile is and what you look most forward to. I know I’m looking forward to the reading and interaction the most! To those joining the readathon and to all my fellow book lovers, happy reading!!!!!
Hello! My name is Nicole. I prefer to go by Willow Star Serenity in the book world. I chose the name in 2014 and it’s stuck. Sadly, many other names I’ve chosen have not stuck. That’s okay though. I’ve recently discovered one that works great for me. Willow Writes And Reads. It suits me completely. This blog will be all about books and writing. I’ll post reviews, author interviews, book related content, and my writing. For the most part, there will be no set schedule. However, I will have some posts set for certain days as to not overload my blog on a certain subject too close together. I look forward to interacting with you all! Please feel free to leave your links and I’ll follow your blog as well!
