Top Ten Tuesdays: Books I enjoyed but rarely talk about

It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday! Thanks Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl for creating this meme.

This week’s topic:

Books I Enjoyed But Rarely Talk About

  1. Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham

I was so excited to find that one of my favorite actresses of all time writes as well. I listened to the audiobook on Scribd. This was before I discovered the audiobooks there skip, but I digress. I loved the book! I bought physical copies of this and her other books! I will probably reread multiple times.

2. Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews

I read the first four of this book. I need to get around to reading the fifth book soon! The point of view of the main character changes for the fourth book. I like the main character in the fourth book, but I LOVED the main character in the first three. She’s just so witty and sassy. She doesn’t take flack from ANYONE. It’s a fun series.

3. The Queen’s Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler

I still can’t remember how I came across this book. All I know is I fell in love with it. I listened to it twice. The second time around was with my mom on the way home from a convention. She enjoyed it as much as I did! It’s definitely a high fantasy novel.

4. I Hate Myselfie by Shane Dawson

I love Shane Dawson videos. He’s funny and sarcastic. I’m sure a lot of people will talk about how he downs himself a lot. I totally get it. It’s what people with self esteem issues do. I digress. It’s so obvious that Shane put a lot of his heart and soul into writing the stories in this one and the next. I kind of always hoped he’d write more. I was disappointed that he never did.

5. Shadow Hunt by Melissa F. Olson

Imagine that you have the power to completely null paranormal’s powers. They become completely human in your presence. That’s Scarlett. She’s more than just a Null. She’s also a very sarcastic woman with a quick wit and an amazing dog.

6. Mean Little People by Paige Dearth

This isn’t a book that will give you warm and tingly feeling. It’s dark and horrifying. Some parts will even make you question humanity in general. It makes you wonder why people can do the things they do. I think that’s some of the allure I have in this book. I haven’t read any other books by this author, but I’m sure they are just as amazing as this one.

7. Veil Of Secrecy by RM Alexander

I’ve read this book two or three times. I plan to read it more. One of my book boyfriends is actually in this trilogy. It’s beautiful and clean. The best way I can explain it is that sometimes science can be used for evil purposes. Those who are behind it will stop at nothing to make sure that nothing gets in their way of their plans.

8. Closure by Angela Ford

This is a very heart-warming book. It’s also full of suspense. It’s basically like reading an episode of Criminal Minds. However, instead of reading it from multiple points of view, you only get one. It makes the story more intimate.

9. Shattered Dreams by Brenda Kennedy

This story is a roller coaster ride of emotions. My fiance’s (now ex) sister-in-law and I read it together. We wound up reading all three books quickly. It’s beautiful and touching. It’s also so tragic. I couldn’t get enough of it.

10. Along Came A Spider by James Patterson

Not many people know this, but I used to LOVE James Patterson. I still love the author. I just have many other favorite authors as well. I have more access to books now than I ever did back then. This is one of my favorite series of all time. I discovered it and Patterson because of the movie based on this book.
