First Book Chat With Lannie Sheridan

How long did it take you to write your first book?

I worked on Shadows of the Past off and on for about 5 years.

What inspired you to start writing?

I honestly don’t remember. I’ve been writing since I was a child. Before I could even write I made up stories. My mom used to write them down for me.

How many drafts did you do before you felt it was ready to publish?

Probably 30ish. I used to print them and hand write notes and edits in them. I went over book 1 soooo many times. I wanted it to be perfect. Unfortunately by the time it was done I was so burned out I don’t want to work on the sequel for quite a while.

How did publishing for the first time ever make you feel?

It was an amazing feeling. I’m not sure I can really describe how I felt holding the first printed copy of my book. I didn’t cry, but I was close to it.

How different would you say the writing and publishing process is for you now than it was then?

I feel like now I am closer to saying I know what I’m doing, not there yet. Not sure I’ll ever fully know what I’m doing, but I’m not confused and unsure like I was with the first one.

How many books have you published since then?

Just 1. I’m about halfway through writing book 3 and hope to have it finished and in the editing stage next year. Sadly my work is on hold at the moment as I’m moving.

Author:

My name is Nicole. I'm from Georgia. I really love reading! I've been reading all my life. I didn't always love it. My mom used to have a rule that I couldn't watch the movie before reading the book first. I hated it at first, but I'm glad she made that rule now!
