Itinerary
The Welcome Week is the core of our Work & Travel Australia program. It’s a way to settle in, meet a few people, see some sights, and pick up some local knowledge so you’re in a better position to work and travel where and when you want for up to a year. After the itinerary below, you can structure your time how you want, but the support team will remain available to consult anytime.
Day 1: Arrival, Meet & Greet
Welcome to Australia! Arrive and head to your hostel right in the center of town. Take the time to settle in, rest up after a long flight, and join your group for a welcome dinner.
Day 2: Info Session and Harbor Cruise
After breakfast (included each morning at the hostel), head over to orientation where you’ll learn about living and working in Australia, the job support available, and logistics like getting your tax ID as well as safety. In the afternoon you’ll enjoy a Sydney Harbor cruise with a barbecue included.
Day 3: Sydney City Tour and Travel Talk
Join the group for a Sydney walking tour and an orientation session on traveling in Australia in the afternoon. In the evening, optionally head out for a drink.
Day 4: Job seminar, Bondi Beach Coastal Walk, and BBQ
Start the day with an info session about finding work in Australia. In the afternoon take a stroll along the famous Bondi beach and enjoy a barbecue with your new friends.

Day 5: Blue Mountains Day Trip
A trip to Sydney isn’t complete without a visit to the beautiful Blue Mountains, famous for exhilarating bushwalks and giant waterfalls. You’ll learn about the culture and history of the region from expert guides, while exploring the famous national park.
Day 6: Sydney Tower Eye Observation Deck
This is a self-guided day. You’ll have the option to head up to the deck of the Sydney Tower and appreciate the views from above. At night head out for a beverage with the group!
Day 7: Travel Planning Day and Farewell Dinner
Schedule 1:1 appointments with the support staff to sort out any travel plans and consult about jobs. In the evening enjoy a farewell dinner.
The activity week has ended but your adventure will be just beginning! Consult the jobs team about finding work and enjoy your working holiday!
Sydney Welcome Week Arrival Dates
We suggest signing up at least two months before your start date and preferably more if possible. Keep in mind that visa processing times can vary (we’ll walk you through the visa process as well).
